Welsh and other pure wool blankets can be washed in a machine using a 30 degree eco wash and mild liquid detergent and dry outdoors. Never tumble dry wool as heat caused it to shrink and felt.
Welsh tapestry quilts are best professionally cleaned as the dyes could run.
Some areas are more prone to moths than others. Before storing your blanket place it in a new bin bag and put in in the freezer for 24 hours . Remove the bag and shake the blanket outside to remove any moths or eggs that may be present. Then seal in a vacuum bag until you need it again.
Store your Welsh Blankets or any other wool product with lavender bags or sachets to ward off moths.
